i know halloween has come and gone, but anytime is a good time for the shining. we took some promo shots and (unintentionally) these photos of myself came out much more creepy than cute.
We decided to take some photos in this little abandoned area here in Ballston Spa. The photos came out amazing and we used a couple for our lookbooks. Here's some of my favorites from the day:
there's a fundamental truth to our nature, man must explore . . .
my plan is to walk around aimlessly without a plan
And I get the urge for going When the meadow grass is turning brown And summertime is falling down -joni mitchell
Our battered suitcases were piled on the sidewalk again; we had longer ways to go. But no matter, the road is life. -jack kerouac
What is the feeling when you're driving away from people, and they recede on the plain till you see their specks dispersing? -it's the too huge world vaulting us, and it's good-bye. But we lean forward to the next crazy venture beneath the skies. -jack kerouac
this blog was inspired by my anxiousness to travel. in january, casey & i will be leaving upstate NY to drive across the country in our van. we will be stopping everywhere and anywhere we can, meeting up with friends, seeing sights & thrifting as much as possible. we have no specific plans, no time constraints, and nothing stopping us.
Debi and I went to visit our friend Carolyn at SUNY Oneonta to start off our halloween weekend on Thursday. She happens to be in a sorority and they were having a 'boobie bash' at a bar to raise money for breast cancer.

We acted like we were in college for the night, drinking a big bowl of liquor, getting kicked out of the bar, getting drunk pizza, going to a hippie fraternity(?), and sleeping in a dorm room. Nostalgia almost started to set in, so we knew it was time to go.
The next day we decided to venture around the town of Oneonta before leaving. MMmm. went to the Oneonta bagel company and had the best and cheapest hangover meal i have ever had. ever.
We can't help but thrift shop everywhere we go. Who knows what we could be missing?! This unique little shop called Shakedown Street was sweet, a combination of consignment and new. There was also a good Salvation Army and a few other really cute places. Being a college town, everything was bit too pricey for our taste though.
All in all, we had a successful little trip. Now we're on to do a photoshoot for all of the new stuff we got. Stay tuned!
