Out and About.. Oneonta, NY

Debi and I went to visit our friend Carolyn at SUNY Oneonta to start off our halloween weekend on Thursday. She happens to be in a sorority and they were having a 'boobie bash' at a bar to raise money for breast cancer.

Carolyn enjoying her half off drinks

We acted like we were in college for the night, drinking a big bowl of liquor, getting kicked out of the bar, getting drunk pizza, going to a hippie fraternity(?), and sleeping in a dorm room. Nostalgia almost started to set in, so we knew it was time to go.

The next day we decided to venture around the town of Oneonta before leaving.

MMmm. went to the Oneonta bagel company and had
the best and cheapest hangover meal i have ever had. ever.

We can't help but thrift shop everywhere we go. Who knows what we could be missing?! This unique little shop called Shakedown Street was sweet, a combination of consignment and new. There was also a good Salvation Army and a few other really cute places. Being a college town, everything was bit too pricey for our taste though.

All in all, we had a successful little trip. Now we're on to do a photoshoot for all of the new stuff we got. Stay tuned!

Out & About // Fall in Saratoga, NY

Today Casey & I went up to Saratoga to take some photos and walk around, since it was a lovely day of 60 degrees and sunny!! We took some photos for our lookbook pages in Congress park:

"do not feed the girls"

our shadows!

Then we walked around a bit & stopped in a used record shop called Last Vestige
. I can't resist taking photos in those round bubble mirrors...

And of course we had to check out the BEST vintage/antique store in toga, Reruns, which has some really great stuff and a huge selection of vintage clothing which is always a mess but really fun to look through!

Overall a very successful day for us :-)

Channeling the 80s...

so i cant sleep and i'm watching flashdance....

the 80s was a pretty sweet decade i guess, i mean i was born in the 8os, there were some classic dance movies made...flashdance, footloose, dirty dancing (RIP patrick swayze), some great fashion, and also some HORRIBLE fashion.

so here it is: the good, the bad, and the just plain ugly aspects of the 80s....

swayze & jennifer gray in one of my fav 80s movies EVER! and the soundtrack is also amazing. I love jennifer's outfits in the movie, so cute!

of course madonna has to be included here. love her trendsetting 80s style that everyone still talks about.

i love janet, but not her 80s shoulder pad blazers..ughhh shoulder pads are awful!

ohhh the 80s workout outfits. i actually really love the leg warmers!

how can you not LOVE the cut, off-the-shoulder sweatshirt look, we have lots of these coming for this fall/winter season!

'the lone goose' vintage sweatshirt coming soon to our etsy shop!

and i will leave you with an 80s style that i hope never comes back...the BANANA CLIP!

Summer Update!!

Hey guys, sorry its been so long since our last entry, but here is an update on whats been going on here at LuAnne Vintage, also what's happening with us for the summer!

We've been hard at work in our 'warehouse' cleaning out and going through TONS of clothing. We've been finding lots of great stuff, as well as finding lots of things to donate to local churches and thrift stores.

I figure this is a good post to explain how LV came to be, so here is a brief history! LuAnne Vintage started from what used to be clothing in my late grandmother's antique store in Saratoga Springs, NY called Ye Olde Wishin' Shoppe. My grandparents eventually had to close the store and planned to open it at their house in Ballston Spa, NY. Unfortunately, my grandmother, June Petteys, passed away 2 years ago after a 7-year battle with breast cancer. In January 2009, my sister Cassie and I decided to start an online business in order to help get rid of the MASSIVE inventory my grandmother had collected over many years. My family is planning to open Ye Olde Wishin' Shoppe II in Ballston Spa this coming July, and we are continuing to help sell the inventory online at LuAnne Vintage as well.

Here are some photos of what we have been up to so far this summer:

so much clothing!!!!

Another important update!!!!

Due to the fact that I need to give in and a normal job for a little while, we will no longer have time to be adding as many new items to our store during the summer. We also have had to temporarily close our ebay store as well. We hope to re-open it again in the fall. Until then, you can still enjoy checking out the 145 items on sale now on ETSY!
