Right around the time I got to Austin, I was running out of money QUICKLY and was just about ready to find a job in Austin after SXSW, when I met someone who needed a ride to Los Angeles. So we put our money together & drove here from Austin in about 4 days, visiting some sights along the way (check out the travel blog for pics: http://vintagevagabonds.wordpress.com).
Once arriving in LA, I started to search for jobs vigilantly & after about 2 weeks or so, landed a full time job that will allow me to actually afford living here, my first real job ever! So here I am, settling down in LA. Who would have thought!!
After talking to a lot of people out here, I realized that what I've done out here is pretty amazing. I mean I just came here with no plans, no job prospects & no friends, living in my van for the first week or so! Now all the sudden I've found a sublet & a job. It was really scary at first and I still wake up some days and question what I'm doing out here but things have come together pretty well and I feel like a much stronger person, having done this all alone (I've never been in a city by myself before!).
So on that note, I'm dedicating this blog to all the strong, independent women out there, the women who persevere, get sh*t done, and don't depend on anyone else.
I'm tough, I'm ambitious, and I know exactly what I want. If that makes me a bitch, okay. ~Madonna Ciccone
